Mobile App Privacy Policy

Islamic Society and Cultural Center of Hyde Park, Inc. ("ISCCH," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Mobile App Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the ISCCH mobile application. The official link for this policy is https://iscchhydepark.org/privacy-policy.

1. Information You Provide

You may provide information when you use app features, contact ISCCH from the app, request information, volunteer, subscribe to announcements, or otherwise communicate with ISCCH. This may include your name, email address, phone number, subject, message, and any other information you choose to submit.

Please do not submit confidential, financial, medical, legal, account, or other sensitive personal information through general contact forms or public-facing message fields.

2. Donations and Payments

Donation and payment links in the app may send you to third-party payment providers, including PayPal. Payment-card numbers, PayPal account credentials, and similar payment details are handled by the payment provider and are not entered directly into the ISCCH app. The provider's own privacy policy and terms apply to information you submit during checkout.

3. Analytics and Technical Information

Like most mobile apps, the ISCCH app and service providers may receive limited technical information such as IP address, device type, operating system, app version, feature usage, request timing, and diagnostic information. If analytics or similar tools are used, they help us understand app usage, improve content, troubleshoot issues, and protect the app.

Your device settings may let you limit certain permissions or app tracking options. Some app features may not work as expected if required permissions are disabled.

4. Mobile App Information

Location Information

The ISCCH mobile app may request foreground location permission when you choose to use the Qibla feature. Your device location is used to calculate the Qibla direction and distance to the Kaaba. ISCCH does not intentionally store your precise location on its server through this feature.

Push Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app may obtain a push notification token and device platform information so ISCCH can send announcements, event reminders, prayer-related notices, and other community notifications.

Hadith AI Questions

If you use the Hadith AI feature when it is enabled, the question you submit may be sent to the ISCCH server and an AI service provider used by ISCCH to generate a response. ISCCH does not intentionally use Hadith AI questions for advertising or to build marketing profiles.

5. How We Use Information

• respond to inquiries and contact form submissions;
• send requested announcements, newsletters, or community updates;
• provide prayer times, events, education information, gallery content, and other app features;
• maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the app and related services;
• process donation-related redirects through third-party payment providers;
• comply with applicable law or protect users, ISCCH, and the community where reasonably necessary.

6. Third-Party Services

Our app may link to or use third-party services for donations, maps, email, hosting, analytics, video, app delivery, push notifications, prayer-time data, Qur'an content, and AI features. When you leave our app, that provider's own privacy policy and terms may apply.

7. Data Retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. Push notification tokens may be removed when they become invalid or are no longer needed.

8. Your Choices

• choose not to submit optional forms or optional phone information;
• unsubscribe from newsletters or announcement emails when an unsubscribe option is provided;
• deny or revoke mobile app location permission;
• deny or disable mobile app notifications;
• limit app permissions using your device settings;
• choose not to open external links or third-party payment pages.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect the app and information handled by our services. However, no internet or electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

10. Children's Privacy

The ISCCH app is a general community and religious-information service and is not designed to collect personal information from children under 13. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when app features, service providers, or legal requirements change. The updated version will show a revised effective date.
